Herbs That Can Beat Faciail Sweating
The facial skin is among the few areas of the body that have numerous sweat glands. While the entire body produces sweat, those areas which have greater concentrations of sweat glands are more likely to sweat excessively, a condition called facial sweating when it affects the skin of the face.
Hyperhidrosis is a serious medical condition whose main symptom is excessive sweating. It appears in many forms and may affect only a particular areas of the body or may affect the entire body. Excessive sweating usually causes sweat to appear on the surface of the palms and the feet. For some people who seem to have dysfunctional sweat-production mechanism, the palms, the face, the feet, the scalp, and the neck may produce excessive amounts of sweat.
Unlike regular sweating, facial hyperhidrosis is unprovoked. This means that the symptoms are idiopathic, meaning there is no know stimuli that causes it. The problem, however, is traceable to the sympathetic system. This problem can be traced to over productive sweat glands.
The greatest trouble with having this condition is that unlike other forms of hyperhidrosis, facial sweating is hard to conceal. As if to add to the problem, solutions aren’t always available in standard forms. The following are touted for their efficacy to manage facial sweating:
{Witch hazel} – The natural astringent properties of this bush makes it a perfect solution for facial sweating. This can be bought in extracted forms –as oil and tincture – or may be made from scratch. Use witch hazel by applying a small amount of the oil or water on the area of your face.
{Burdock} – If you don’t like applying solutions to your skin, you might as well try drinking it. Usually drank as tincture or tea, burdock is another herb used widely for sweaty face.
{Sage} – And you thought sage is only good for your stomach. Sage, apart from spicing up your dinner, is also a good remedy for excessive sweating. Use it to wash your face, drink it as tea, or apply it on your face as you would any other topical solution, there's just so much use with sage to benefit you. You can even mix it with witch hazel to make an all-natural antiperspirant.
{Astralagus} – Known for its diuretic properties, astralagus is an herb native to China. You can drink it as tea to improve your fluid retention and sweating .
{Aloe vera} – Aloe vera juice is something you can count on when you need a quick fix for your sweating problems. You may use the regular aloe vera gel you can find in drugstores and dilute it on water or buy aloe vera juice in your local health food store. When applied to the skin, aloe vera has cooling effects which may partially prevent sweating.
{Tip}: Refrain from taking foods containing diaphoretic herbs as these can stimulate your sweat glands. A few of the most common diaphoretic herbs are ginger, garlic, cayenne, anise, elderly flower, chamomile, angelica and hyssop.
The face may be the hardest part of the body to treat for uncontrollable sweating. But there are definitely a handful of solutions that can help with your problem on facial sweating.
